Recommendation-I rate The Islands of the Blessed 5 out of 5 stars because this book has lots creative ideas. Nancy Farmer describes each new character with lots of imagination, so you can create a whole life sized scene in your mind. This action packed book is enjoyable for 4^th and 5^th graders.  Hope you can read this finely made, thrilling book.

Summary – In the book The Sea of Trolls, two human siblings, Jack and Lucy, gets stolen by Northmen. Northmen are trolls who live in the north and usually serve the half-troll, Frith. Jack travels with the northmen and goes on an adventure to Yggdrasil with Thorgil, one of the northmen, (a shield maiden). If he does not make it to Yggdrasil in time, his poor sister will get sacrificed. Jack needs to figure out how to get to home, more importantly, to Yggdrasil, although they are traveling by boat. Jack’s job if to be the captain’s skalds (a skalds is a poet, bard and magician).  Read this book and follow this adventure that will blow your mind!

Recommendation – The book The Sea of Trolls has lots of twists and turns which I find enjoyable. I rate this book 5out of 5 star. 4^th graders would surely love this book. I also recommend you to read D’Aulaires Book of Norse Myths because The Sea of Trolls has Norse myths in it. If you like this book, there are also sequels # 2 and 3. They are called The Land of Silver Apples and The Islands of the Blessed.
