The Tale of Emily Windsnap

Summary The Tale of Emily Windsnap follows the mysterious metamorphous of a girl named Emily Windsnap.  During middle school, she takes swimming classes for the first time.  When she swims, she gets a strange feeling that she belongs in the water.  Soon she discovers that she is half-mermaid.

As the story progresses, Emily is torn between happily exploring the undersea world of the mermaids and trying to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance. With the help of her new merfriend, Shona, Emily learns about mermaids and friendship at the same time.

Read this book and enter a world of underwater adventure.

Recommendation – I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because Liz Kessler really puts your mind into the story.  She creates vivid images of the setting and interesting interactions of the characters.   I found myself imagining what it would feel like if I were Emily Windsnap.
